I am amazed by the number of bird species that have come to and through our area, including areas within an hour of my house. They migrate back earlier than I first believed. Some, such as the snipe have been here for over a month now, making their winnowing sounds.

I have learned lots about bird behaviour through many hours of walking, photographing, and watching how they arrive and interact with the nature around them. Birding in these areas amazes and delights me to see the many species of birds around me. There are also many others who share my passion. This passion has become a way of life, and with it I get fresh air, exercise, and inspiration from every detail that I see.

Warblers are arriving to our area, filling the air with their amazing song. Wispy light green buds appear on the trees, not yet hiding the new arrivals. A birding app on my phone assists me with identifying the song of birds not seen in quite some time. Winter is forgotten as the sun shines, warming everything around. Longer daylight hours allow me to have more time photographing what I truly enjoy. My mind wonders with new painting ideas while experiencing creation all around me.

Spring is a experience for all of the senses.
